The British Museum is the largest museum in the UK, and one of the largest and most famous museums of antiques from around the world. Since its opening on January 15, 1759, but closed its doors because of the two world wars, and has grown from 5,000 visitors a year, over 5 million, becoming one of the most visited museums in the world
