Vigo: Age of bronze
This period is characterized by the continuous evolution of technology as well as metal sample found axes, daggers of bronze, gold and silver jewelry.
Two spectacular finds have come to enrich this room and both chronologically belonging to the Bronze Age. First is the Cista of Atios (O Porrino), important discovery of a tomb made ??of slabs and inside which found an interesting outfit consisting of a blade, a knife blade, three jewels that some authors identify as girdles hair, two gold and one silver and finally a stone where the dead would have supported his head. Chronologically we can put in the Early Bronze (1800-1000 BC.).
The other finding comes from outside our city, specifically Saians, consisting of 27 double bronze axes voids, which have the peculiarity of not being used because they retain still the remains of the foundry, it appears that this discovery reveal a cache and a work area or some kind of settlement, which confirms the enormous value that is attached to metal during this time. This deposit can be dated-what in the Late Bronze Age (1000-600 BC.).
Another important aspect of this period is the rock art engravings on rock outdoors. These prints are called petroglyphs. Found about 30 petroglyphs in Vigo distributed Coruxo parishes, Beade, Matamá, Beade, Comesaña, Navia, Oia, Teis, Sárdoma and Oia. In these combinations predominate circular petroglyphs, bowls, runs and elliptical shapes.
